God is Jesus Christ

ABUNDANT LIFE IN CHRIST

JESUS SAID, “I AM THE WAY AND THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME. (John 14:6)

WAY
Jesus comes to show the way.
Jesus is the only way:
i.   Only way to the Father
ii.  Only way of salvation
iii. Only way to heaven

Acts 4:12
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

TRUTH

i. True salvation for mankind

The Gospel (The life, deeds and teachings of Jesus Christ).

John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Jesus sacrifice on the cross for the salvation of mankind is a perfect & complete work. The criminal who was crucified next to Jesus believed that Jesus is Lord and went to heaven with Jesus after They died.

Luke 23:42-43
42 Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” 43 And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” Jesus also wants you to do the Father’s will when we are alive on earth.

Matthew 7:21
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

ii. True words of God

John 1:1-5
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”

Genesis 1:1
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

The Hebrew word used for God here is Elohim – The plurals of GodTrinity.
Trinity  –
The unity of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit as three Persons in one Godhead.
God created the earth with His Words.

  • There is a Divine Being known as the Word.
  • This Divine Being is eternal (Exist In the beginning).
  • At the same time, this Divine Being is distinct from God the Father  (the Word was withGod).
  • This Divine Being is God (the Word was God).
  • And the Word was with God, and the Word was God – Trinity.

John 1:14
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Jesus is the Word of God – The Source of Truth.
Matthew 5:17
“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.

TRINITY

Trinity Illustration

One of the Trinity dwells in us – The Holy Spirit.
There are two spirits in my body – my spirit & Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit dwells in me united as one with my spirit .

1 Corinthians 6:17
“But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.”

We can be changed into the likeness of the Holy Spirit in our characters.
Does that make me into two different/separate persons ?
No, my physical identity still the same.

iii. True God

John 14:7-11
7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’ 10 Do you  not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.  11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

Philippians 2:6-8
6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal    with God, but made Himself of no reputation,  taking the form of bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

Jesus explained His unity and dependency with God the Father. If you have seen Jesus, you have seen God the Father. In Jesus, God is revealed to men. Jesus is God who becomes man. Jesus is God.

Life

Jesus is the Source of life.
Jesus gives life to the fullest.

John 11:25
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;

John 10:10
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have  it to the full.”In other translation, more abundantly.

Abundant Life in Christ:

i. True Life satisfaction

John 4:13
13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

Ephesians 1:13-14
13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

Only Jesus can give True Life Satisfaction through the Holy Spirit :
     Unconditional Love
     Genuine Peace
     Abundant Hope
     Overflowing Joy
     Amazing Grace
     Blessed Assurance

Wealth, status, position, material things, worldly pleasure cannot give true satisfaction. We are spiritual beings where only Holy spirit can bring satisfaction to our soul. There is a hole/emptiness/needs in our life where only Holy spirit can fills.

ii. Restored Life
Our sins are forgiven

    Ephesians 1:7

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.”

Restored relationship with God.

    Romans 5:10
“For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the   death of His Son, much more,
having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.”

Restored status
   We are made Righteous

   2 Corinthians 5:21

“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

We are adopted as Children of God

   Galatians 4:4-6
4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem
those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent
forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out,  “Abba, Father!”

  • We are made Heirs of His Kingdom
    Galatians 4:7
Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

  • We are made Kings & Priests for His kingdom
    Revelation 1:6
and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

iii. Fruitful Life

John 15:5-9
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.

iv. Freedom of life
(Free from bondages of sins, guilt, fear, etc).

John 8:36
Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

Secured & Healthy Life

Psalm 91:11
For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.”

Isaiah 53:5
“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.”

Blessed Life

Philipians 4:19
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

vii. Eternal Life

John 6:51-56
51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever;  and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.” 52 The Jews  therefore quarrelled among themselves, saying, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat? 53 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you,  unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. 56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides  in Me, and I in him.

Jesus is the bread and wine for eternal life. He knew He was going to sacrifice His life, His body, shed His blood on the cross for the redemption of mankind so they can be saved and have eternal life in heaven. That’s why we partake in Holy Communion in remembrance of His sacrifice on the cross, a symbol of partaking of Christ’s body and blood by faith. The bread signifies the body of Jesus, which was broken for us. He took on all sin, iniquity, rebellion, disease, grief and shame. The wine (or grape juice) represents His blood, which was shed to establish a new covenant. It brought the forgiveness of sins and sets us apart in holiness.  He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides  in Me, and I in him.
