Find and join a Holy Spirit-Filled Church.
Find and be committed to a local church that believe in leading of the HolySpirit, baptism of the Holy Spirit. Usually, they are the Pentacostal or Charismatic churches. When Jesus Christ returned to heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit into the world to help all Christians. Now, we are living in the era of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God Himself. Holy Spirit is working and moving in the church and in the world, touching and transforming lives, convicting sins, bringing miracles. Without the Holy Spirit, the church will not be able to connect to God intimately and will not be able to grow.
Be Baptised in water.
To submerge your body fully in the water and then re-emerge from the water. The reasons for water baptism is to fulfill God’s will and follow Jesus’s example. The meaning of water baptism is a sign that you burried your old sinful life and resurrected with a new life in Christ. It is a sign of repentance and new birth in Christ. The old life has passed the new life has come.
Be Baptised in the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. The first sign of baptism of the Holy Spirit is speaking in heavenly language – Tongue. When you speak in tongue you are speaking directly to God. When we are baptised by the Holy Spirit the Spirit of the Almighty God comes and dwell in our physical body. God is living in us and connecting us to the heavenly realm. Holy Spirit will empower us to witness to others, to overcome our weakness/temptation, to perform miracles, to do the will of God on earth and to destroy the power of darkness.
Spend time of devotion to read the bible daily.
The Bible is the words of God, inspired by God not men. One of the way God communicate to mankind is through the bible. The Bible recorded the accounts of the creation of the world, the creation of mankind, the fall of mankind, the account of Jesus Christ on earth and the End Times. For a beginner, read the bible daily starting from New testament from the Book of Matthew to Revelation. After that, continue to read from the Old Testament from the Book of Genesis to Book of Malachi. God will speaks to you from the Bible. Your faith will increase gradually as we read the words of God.
Prayer Life.
Prayer is a 2-way communication between you and God. When you pray, you convey something to God and God will convey His message to you. Praying in tongues is a powerful prayer that will enable you to tap into the heavenly resources. When you prayin tongue, the Holy Spirit is praying on your behalf, groaning in Spirit for your weakness. When you pray in tongue, the Holy Spirit will reveal the plan of God in your life and give you guidance. When you pray in tongue, the Holy Spirit will release the supernatural gifts of God to you. When you pray in tongue, the power of darkness will be destroyed. Prayers can change God’s decision, move the hands of God and change the history of a nation. Active prayer life will lead to a victorious life.
Praise and Worship Lifestyle.
God is enthroned in the praises of His people. Praise and worship bring God’s presence in our midst. You can feel God’s presence when you praise and worship Him. Worship is an expression of total love, adoration from our heart to God, glorifying and honouring the presence of God. God enjoys your worship, worship can bring your relationship with God to a deeper level. As you worship God, you will feel His abundant love overflows in your life. Jesus is the lover of our soul and nothing can compare to His love. Praise is an expression of thanksgiving and exaltation. As you praise Him, the joy of the Lord becomes our strength. When God’s presence is in amidst of His people, breakthrough and miracles will happen. When God is pleased with your worship and praises, His abundant blessings will flow into your life.
Be committed to join the cell group.
After you have received the salvation, you become God’s family member. You need to join the cell group of your local church. The cellgroup is your close spiritual family. The cell group gathering usually consists of a small group of 12 people, It’s like a mini church service. You will get to know one another, you will be encourage and supported by one another in prayer. You can ask questions and receive Godly counsel and advise when you face challenges or problems.You will be discipled and grow together spiritually in character and faith.
Serve God in the family, church & workplace.
We have been saved by the grace of Jesus Christ, as acts of love and thanksgiving to Him, we offer our life to serve Him. Bring God to your family, teach the Bible to your family members, worship God together with your family members, make decisions according to the teaching of the bible. Serve Him in the church ministry according to your capacity and calling. Involve God in your workplace pray for the staffs and the business of the workplace. Make business decisions according to biblical principles, share the gospel to your colleagues or staffs.
Grow to be in the image of Christ.
God wants us to grow spiritually to be like Jesus in His attributes. Jesus has set an example for us when He lived on earth. Jesus displayed the attributes of compassion, love, forgiveness, generosity, patience and long suffering. Likewise, we need to bear the fruits of the Holy Spirit – love, peace, joy, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Jesus will take us to heaven in rapture when He comes again in the cloud.
Share the Gospel to others.
After we have received the gift of salvation freely by His grace, we are also called to share the good news to others so others can be saved and blessed like us as well. Jesus desires that no one shall perish in hell but have eternal life in heaven. We will received rewards from God when we bring new soul to the church.
